Fertility Enhancing Massage Protocol, or ‘The FEM Protocol’, is a four-part series utilizing massage and related techniques to enhance the health and functioning of the pelvic and abdominal organs, promote fertility and overall mental, emotional, and physical wellbeing. The four parts of the protocol focus on cleansing the body, enhancing the blood, opening the breath, and relaxing and integrating, respectively.
The FEM protocol is a unique healing journey that engages the client in the process. Prior to each sixty minute session, the client is provided with an informational sheet that explains the healing objective of each treatment as well as suggested self-care exercises for continued benefit. Sessions are available individually, or as a four part protocol for optimal healing.
Session 1: Cleanse the Body:
Toxic buildup can create inflammation in the body, robbing it of its natural ability to balance hormones, build immunity, and create energy. In your Cleanse the Body session, your body's detoxification response will be triggered using a protocol known as Raindrop Technique, in which a series of therapeutic-grade essential oils are applied to the feet and spine. This technique will be combined with a light-touch approach to stretching and opening the lymphatic pathways, known as Lymph Drainage Therapy. Additionally, various lymphatic techniques, hormone-balancing essential oils, massage, and reflexology will be employed.
Session 2: Enhance the Blood
Blood is the body's natural healing agent. Unfortunately, many stressors trigger tension in the body, threatening its ability to properly distribute the blood. During your Enhance the Blood session, a blend of Swedish as well as myofascial massage will be used to direct blood toward the pelvic organs. Circulation will also be enhanced through hip mobilizations and stretches, reflexology and acupressure. In addition, thermal therapy, essential oils, and the massage of specific arteries will redirect the blood toward the reproductive organs.
Session 3: Open the Breath
Though it allows us to survive, shallow breathing may create stagnation, rigidity, and weakness in the pelvic organs. During your Open the Breath session, your breathing patterns will be assessed, and your muscles will be released as needed. Myofascial massage techniques will assist in opening and realigning the primary and secondary muscles of respiration. Visualizations, exercises, and aromatherapy will also be used to build breath awareness.
Session 4: Relax and Integrate
Chronic stress depletes the body's energy and resources. During challenging times, the need to create relaxation, pleasure, and self-nurturing goes far beyond luxury; it is a fundamental of good health. Your Relax and Integrate session has been stylized with long, slow, and fluid strokes, sending your body signals of wholeness, integration and pleasure. Therapeutic, Swedish massage will be performed to the full body, melting away unwanted tension while bringing peace and calming to the mind. Attention will also be given to releasing and stimulating the pelvic area through thermal therapy and myofascial massage. Reflexology, acupressure points and essential oils will assist in balancing the adrenal glands.

Maya Abdominal Massage is a non-invasive, external, massage technique. It guides internal abdominal organs into their proper position for optimum health and well-being. Maya massage improves organ function by releasing physical and emotional congestion from the abdomen. This massage is effective for both men and women.
The technique applies anatomy, physiology, herbology and naprapathy, (study of the ligaments, joints and muscles), with Ancient Maya healing techniques to address common female and male complaints. The technique works by relieving congestion and blockages to improve the flow of chi and fluids of the circulatory, lymphatic and nervous systems to prevent the progression of chronic disease symptomology.
Dr. Rosita Arvigo, DN, developed these techniques, after apprenticing with Don Elijio Panti, the last of the Traditional Maya Shaman in Central America, where she has lived for over 30 years. The Arvigo Techniques of Maya Abdominal Massage™ combine modern science with traditional healing and wisdom to produce a holistic path to physical, emotional and spiritual well-being.

What can I expect in a Reiki treatment?
A Reiki treatment lasts approximately 45 minutes and is done while lying down, fully clothed. The Reiki Practitioner uses very gentle, light touch at specific points on the body, (head, shoulders stomach, arms, legs, feet and chakras) bringing a warm sense of deep relaxation into the mind and body. People have reported that they have felt tingling, seen colors, and have experienced greater awareness of unconscious thoughts. As time goes on, deeper levels of relaxation and profound change may occur. At PDtM, we recommend treatment once a week for at least three weeks to experience how Reiki can help you personally. After these three sessions, you may wish to continue weekly appointments until you and your practitioner both feel your energy is in maximum balance.
How can Reiki help with fertility?
Reiki contributes to overall health, including reproductive health. At Pulling Down the Moon, Integrative Care for Fertility™, the most common uses are for anxiety, insomnia, and lack of joy. It can also help with pain management, nausea, vitality and a sense of health and wellbeing. Reiki can be used before pregnancy, during and after. And our Reiki Practitioner Marcela Lopez, who has been practicing Reiki for 20 years, adds, “Reiki babies are VERY smart”.
What is Pregnancy Massage?
During the second and third trimesters of pregnancy, massage has a number of shared benefits for both mother and child. First, it quickens circulation throughout the body, thereby increasing the uterine blood supply and enhancing nutrient and oxygen flow to the fetus. Massage may also promote a healthy birth experience. By decreasing tension and pain patterns in the back, legs, hips, and pelvis, these areas gain flexibility so the uterus may labor without resistance. And of course, massage can enhance the mother's sense of well-being. During pregnancy, high stress and anxiety levels can negatively affect hormone balance and the developing fetus. Massage releases endorphins and provides a deep sense of relaxation, bringing balance to mind, body and baby.
