Yoga for Fertility
This six-week class is a journey into the healing powers of Yoga for Fertility
™ and how this practice can help calm and heal the body, clear the
mind and lighten the heart. At each class you will learn a series of yoga
postures designed to improve fertility by increasing blood flow into the
pelvis, releasing stress and anxiety and balancing life energy flow in
the body. In addition to this physical practice we make a sequential exploration
concepts from yoga philosophy that frame the fertility journey in a way
that reveals our personal strengths, reinforces the joy of everyday life
and empowers us to create the family we are meant to have. Through this
class you will also join the wonderful, positive healing community of
Pulling Down the Moon and enjoy the energy of all the amazing women who
have shared their journey with us.
Joint Reserach Study to Find out Whether Yoga Can Help Your Fertility
Pulling Down the Moon and Fertility Centers of Illinois are conducting
a joint research study to learn whether yoga has an impact on anxiety
levels and pregnancy outcomes in women going through medicated fertility
cycles. The Lead Investigators on this study are Beth Heller, M.S. of
Pulling Down the Moon and
Jennifer Hirshfeld-Cytron, M.D. of Fertility Centers of Illinois.
You are eligible to participate in this study if you are:
- A female patient of Fertility Centers of Illinois
- You recently completed an unsuccessful ART cycle (or successful cycle that
ended with miscarriage)
- You are planning a subsequent, non-donor ART cycle within six months
Study participants will attend one of three intervention groups and complete
a pre and post-test anxiety inventory questionnaire. Participants will
be eligible to take classes for half-price, and will also receive free
study materials valued up to $35.
- A six-week Yoga for Fertility program
- A six-week web-based Yoga for Fertility program with at-home, DVD based
- A six-week discussion-only Mind/Body Strategies for Fertility class
Yoga and Discussion-only classes will be held in Chicago – River
North and Highland Park.

Prenatal Workshop $75 2:30 – 4:30 pm Saturday March 4, 2017
Pregnancy is your body demonstrating what it’s capable of, incredible
strength, change and growth. Yoga is an effective, yet gentle way to explore
and support these awesome changes in your body.
Our prenatal workshop is appropriate for any level of student and is geared
toward expectant parents and those preparing for pregnancy. Each session
will provide you with tools to create the healthiest possible pregnancy
for mom and baby. We’ll explore relaxation techniques, breathing
exercises, and yoga poses to strengthen and tone your changing body, as
well as relieve tension and common aches and pains. In addition to 75-90
minutes of yoga practice, our class includes discussion, time for questions
and to connect and create “sangha” (the yoga word for community)!
The workshops are designed to accommodate for the needs of everyone who
shows up! It builds upon the Pulling Down the Moon community, by not focusing
on the treatment of ailments but on the creation of health that honors
the mind and heart as well as the body.
