Cassie Harrison, Yoga Instructor
“Health is wealth, peace of mind is happiness, Yoga shows the way.” – Louise Hay
With more than twenty years spent practicing yoga and seven years as an instructor, Cassie Harrison is passionate about sharing the gift of yoga with anyone and everyone. Cassie understands that not everyone is a “pretzel” (neither is she), but that it is possible to reap the same, if not more benefits from a yoga practice.
Cassie discovered Yoga in a non-credit college class and she was hooked from the beginning. Eventually she decided to become an instructor in order to refine her own form. Now that she teaches, she is able to give cues to proper alignment. She jokes that she is doing her job right, “if you hear me in your head when you attend a large group yoga class.” Cassie prefers to keep her own classes small so she can personalize her instruction and build strong relationships with students.
Cassie’s students recognize and enjoy her calming yoga voice, along with her ability to challenge them without realizing it. Students consistently comment that they are much more relaxed by the end of a class and have managed to forget about their stressful day for a moment. That equals success in yoga terms.
Cassie is a 200-hour Registered Yoga Instructor (RYT) and a Registered Prenatal Yoga Instructor (RPYT). She received her instruction through Urban Breath Yoga in Saint Louis taught by Dr. Jaime Sanchez and received and additional 95 hours of instruction through Amala School of Prenatal Yoga. In her yoga practice, Cassie employs numerous styles of Sivananda Yoga complemented by various other styles of Hatha Yoga.
Her most recent focus is in Yoga for Fertility, where she leads the yoga department. In her classes she utilizes tools and techniques for preparing the body as well as coping with the stresses and emotions during the fertility journey. Cassie was trained by Pulling Down the Moon in Yoga for Fertility.
